Our convenient 2-day and 3-day Basic RiderCourses™ will get you up on two wheels in no time, ready to ride!
As a state-contracted provider of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation® Basic RiderCourse™, MRH will teach you the fundamentals of safe and enjoyable motorcycling, including straight-line riding, turning, shifting and braking. You’ll also learn street strategies to help keep you safer in traffic, advanced turning techniques, maximum braking methods and convenience maneuvers to help you in everyday situations.
The 2-day class consists of two sessions. Weekend classes, offered at all of our convenient locations, run Saturdays and Sundays 8a-5p. Weekday classes, offered at our Crossroads branch, are conducted Tuesdays and Wednesdays 8a-5p.
The 3-day class is specially designed for those needing their Sunday mornings free. It's offered only at our Crossroads location and consists of the following: Friday evening 6p-9p, Saturday 7:30a-4pm and Sunday 2p-6p. On those weekends with this class added, the two-day course at Crossroads will run 8a-5p on Saturday and 7:30a-2p on Sunday.
Whichever class you choose, attendance at all sessions is mandatory, and successful completion of both written and riding tests is required to receive your Texas DPS MSB-8 completion card. Note: Students arriving late or failing to attend any session forfeit their tuition. All who pass enjoy insurance discounts with many companies. Successful completion of a Basic RiderCourse is now mandatory for motorcycle licensing in Texas!
